Let him know you still love him and want him home

If they don’t hookup chat Lancaster think you’re ready for the world, sit down with them and see what it is going to take to convince them you are not a kid anymore and you can make your own responsible decisions.

Okay well, basically i want to leave my house. It’s very much like hell but thinking about it, hell seems better then here.

The best way to move out is to talk to your parents, not running away. Talk to your parents and find a solution that will make both you and your parents happy. Running away in my book doesn’t make you an adult. It makes you a chicken because you can’t stand up to your parents and tell them you want to move out.

So you all can come to a logical decision that you all agree on. I know this because my oldest sister ran away a month ago.

anon21725: Yes you can. Legally, your parents can’t make you stay; if they do they can find themselves in legal trouble. once you’re 18, legally you don’t have to listen to your parents. After all, this is the only country where your not an adult by 16. anon676

legal age in any state ranges from 16 to 19 to move out. Your parents can’t stop you after that, but if you live in their house, you still have to go by their rules because they have every right to kick you out. anon626

My daughter turned 18 in . Is our custody order done now that she is 18? Does she have to go visit her father every weekend even if she does not want to? amypollick

To the mom with the 18-year-old son. I don’t have children, but I know you’re worried about your son. Give him a couple of days. Then, as tough as it may be, let him find out for himself how hard it is when you don’t have three hots and a cot for free. Don’t badger him — just let him know he’s welcome when he wants to come back.

You have to think how much parents don’t want to let their children grow up because it makes them feel like they are not part of your world anymore

I have a sneaking suspicion that, when his money/food/lodging runs out, he will come slinking home, tail between his legs. Then, you tell him he either follows the house rules or he can get a job, move out and act however he wants to.

You’re not being a bad mom by telling him there are certain rules he has to follow in order to live with you. It’s your house. You’ve made the payments on it all these years and you determine how people act inside it. anon558
